When I was in my first year of college, Dr. Reavy kept me after class one day to tell me that he was reviving The Aquinas. I didn’t know why he was bothering to tell me - I mean I was just a freshman, and I had only taken two comm classes at the time. But he wanted me on his team, and he offered to teach me whatever I didn’t understand himself. So I applied for the job.

This was the very first interview I had ever been on and I was so scared. But when I logged into the Zoom meeting and I saw Dr. Reavy’s face - and he was laughing at me because he could see how scared I was - he just calmed me down and asked me to tell him what some of my ideas were. He told me that every single one of my ideas was smart and that he wanted to help me achieve all of them.
