Men's and Women's Basketball Compete, Cardboard Cutouts are Fans

The University of Scranton men's and women's basketball teams opened their season on Feb. 9.

The University of Scranton men's and women's basketball teams opened their season on Feb. 9. Each team, along with the four other conference foes that opted to compete in basketball, embarked on eight games apiece, which will be followed by a Landmark Conference tournament.

The men's team is currently 4-2 and the women's team is 4-1. (Check athletics.scranton.edu for the latest news.)

The Landmark Conference Tournament will get underway on Tuesday, March 2 with the play-in game between the No. 4 and No. 5 seed. Semifinal contests are slated for Thursday, March 4 and the winners of the two semifinal games will play in the conference championship game on Saturday, March 6.

No fans have been allowed at games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but all games are being streamed on the new Landmark Conference Digital Network. Fans were invited to buy cardboard cutouts for the basketball stands.
