The University announced its Royals Back Together plan for the return of in-person classes and activities for the fall 2021 semester in August. On Aug. 30, students returned to in-person class instruction and activities. Only graduate courses that were offered online prior to the pandemic are offered in an online format. The previous academic year was a mix of hybrid, in-person and virtual.

The plan incorporates the University’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement for students and employees and takes into account the latest health and safety recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Pennsylvania Department of Health, including flexibility to adjust the plans masking and other health requirements based on the virus spread within the local community.
