On the sixth annual “Scranton Day of Service” on March 21, alumni volunteered at 11 local services sites organized by nine Scranton alumni clubs in eight states and Washington D.C.
Alumni:
- sorted donations for homeless children through the Cradles to Crayons program in Brighton, Massachusetts
- cleaned, painted and organized classrooms at the Bridgeport Catholic Academy in Chicago, Illinois
- worked in the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of Madison, Wisconsin
- helped clean up Ambrose Kennedy Park in Baltimore, Maryland
- prepared meals at the D.C. Central Food Kitchen in Washington, D.C.
- bagged food at the Arlington Food Assistance Center
- prepared and served breakfast at the Allentown Rescue Mission
- assisted elderly residents at St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton
- helped at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Kathleen’s Closet thrift shop
- painted Liberty Avenue Middle School in Brooklyn
- worked in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore
- cleaned up a trail near Fairfield, Iowa
